13 year old Esther Chinemerem Ezeifeka was on appointed Chief Executive of Connected Development CODE in a way of celebrating this year’s Children’s Day.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of CODE, Hamzat B. Lawal who stepped down earlier for the one day CEO stated the move is a key part of teaching young members of Connected Development’s #CivicIntegrityClub about leadership, building their confidence and preparing them for the future.

The event was followed by a children’s day celebration which had 15 other members of the #CivicIntegrityClub, press briefing, meeting with other management staff/departmental heads, and departmental interactions with the students who got to ask questions, learn more about addressing social issues through active citizenship and how each department contributes to the overall mission at CODE.

Esther appealed to the government and key education stakeholders to address infrastructural deficit that has plagued most public schools, for improved learning outcomes and increased attendance.
