The National President of Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN), Dr. Aliyu Badaki has called on Tourism stakeholders to remain focused on developing the sector.
Dr. Badaki in a statement to mark this year’s World Tourism Day says tourism remains the heartbeat of creativity, hospitality, and economic growth.
On this World Tourism Day 2025, I extend warm greetings to every member of our vibrant tourism family across Nigeria. Today, we unite with the global community to celebrate the beauty of travel, culture, and connection. The theme for this year reminds us of our purpose, and I proudly say: This is why we are here.
We are here because tourism is the heartbeat of creativity, hospitality, and economic growth. We are here because our natural landscapes, our culture, and our people are treasures the world deserves to experience.
Above all, we are here because, together, we have the power to transform our nation’s tourism sector into a beacon of excellence.
I assure you that good things are ahead. Across Nigeria, from the bustling cities to serene rural escapes, opportunities are emerging for innovation and investment. Our strength lies in partnership and collaboration—when associations, private operators, government agencies, and local communities work hand in hand, we create an ecosystem that benefits every stakeholder.
In the coming months, FTAN will intensify its efforts to foster meaningful alliances, advocate for supportive policies, and provide platforms for capacity building. We are committed to ensuring that every practitioner—whether in hospitality, tours, transport, culture, or adventure—feels the positive impact of these collective strides.
Let us continue to share knowledge, promote responsible tourism, and support one another. Together we can attract more visitors, create more jobs, and preserve the rich heritage that makes Nigeria a destination of choice.
This is why we are here: to celebrate what we have, to nurture what we love, and to build a sustainable future for generations to come.
I call on all of you to remain steadfast and collaborative as we embark on this exciting journey.
