The Kogi State Government has been called upon to expedite action on the Ogidi-Ayere road, saying the road is crucial to the economic survival of the people of Ijumu Oke.
The Ologidi of Ogidi, Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule, who made the appeal at this year’s Ogidi Day Festival held over the weekend, commended the State Government for flagging off the road project recently.
The Ologidi of Ogidi said the Community has been projecting the culture of the State to the world, hence the need to look into the road to enhance the economic lives of the people.
Oba Sule while commending Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the respected accorded to traditional institutions, assured of the support of the people of the Community to his administration.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Mr. Idris Olorunfemi applauded the Ogidi Traditional Council and Ogidi Development Union for sustaining the annual programme which has projected the Okun land to the world.
According to him, the beautiful package of Ogidi Day Festival endeared him to invest in Hospitality business in Kabba to accommodate Guests.
The Director General of the Ogidi Day Festival, Mr. Tunde Ipinmisho noted that the Programme has attracted dividends but emphasized the need to address security challenges bedeviling the country.
On their part, the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi and Olujumu of Ijumu, Oba Williams Ayeni urged the people of Ogidi to sustain the existing peace in the Community.
