The 36 Political Elevation Group (36 PEG) under the leadership of Prince Dan Olaitan Dada, President, has noted and commends the appointment of Mr. David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, as Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Council for the re-election campaign of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osun State.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Chief Sanmi Isola Oluleye, Director General of 36 PEG, stated: “This appointment reflects the growing recognition that youth mobilisation in modern politics must engage credible voices that resonate with young people across Nigeria. Davido’s influence, both nationally and globally, positions him as a mobiliser who can connect with Osun youths beyond party lines and traditional structures.”

Why 36 PEG Supports This Appointment:

1. Youth Visibility in Governance.
For too long, youth participation in politics has been reduced to mobilisation during elections without real influence in governance. Appointing a youth icon to lead mobilisation signals an intentional effort to bring youth closer to the political process.

2. Credibility and Reach.
Davido’s track record as a Nigerian cultural ambassador gives him the reach to engage young people in Osun and across the country. His involvement can help drive issue-based engagement among first-time voters and politically disengaged youth.

3. Precedent for Inclusive Politics.
When public figures with proven followership are brought into structured political engagement, it creates a bridge between governance and the grassroots. This aligns with 36 PEG’s objective of grooming disciplined, accountable, and people-centred leadership.

Our Position.
36 PEG reassures the Government and people of Osun State of its support for initiatives that promote responsible youth participation in politics. The group urges that this appointment be matched with clear mandates for civic education, voter enlightenment, and policy feedback mechanisms, so that youth mobilisation translates into informed participation, not just crowd mobilisation.

The group also calls on Davido to use this platform to promote unity, discourage political violence, and encourage young people to focus on competence, accountability, and service as the basis for political support.

36 PEG remains committed to working with stakeholders across Nigeria to raise the standard of political engagement and leadership recruitment. The future of Osun and Nigeria depends on how well we prepare and involve the next generation of leaders today.
