Iyara Community Hails Gov. Ododo Over Appointment of Mr. Olushola as Ijumu LG Education Secretary

The Iyara Development Association (IDA) has expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kogi State,Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, following the appointment of Mr. Olajide Samuel Olushola as Education Secretary of Ijumu Local Government Area under the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

The appointment, communicated through a letter from the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, has been received with excitement and pride in Iyara community, with the IDA describing it as a well-deserved recognition and a demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable representation across the state.

In a statement signed by the National President of the Association, Dr. Aliyu Badaki, the IDA said the appointment reaffirms Governor Ododo’s belief that no community should be left behind in the pursuit of progress.

“Your Excellency, Iyara Community is very grateful. You have once again shown that you remember the people — not just at the polls, but in the corridors of governance where decisions that shape lives are made,” the statement read in part.

The Association also commended the leadership of the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board, particularly its Executive Chairman, Mallam Abdulrazak Muhammed Yusuf, for what it described as a process driven by equity, fairness and justice.

“Your track record of enhancing academic excellence is visible, and we are grateful to the Executive Chairman,” the IDA stated.

Turning to the newly appointed Education Secretary, the Association congratulated Mr. Olushola and charged him to live up to the expectations of his community and the people of Ijumu Local Government Area.

“You carry with you not just a title, but the hopes and aspirations of a community that believes in the power of education to transform lives and unlock futures,” Dr. Badaki said.

 

“The children of Ijumu Local Government Area deserve the very best, and we trust that you will serve them with distinction.”

The IDA used the occasion to reaffirm its unwavering support for Governor Ododo’s administration, pledging to continue mobilizing community members behind the Governor’s policies and programmes.

“Your vision for a stronger, more prosperous Kogi State resonates deeply with our community. We are confident that your leadership is steering Kogi State in the right direction,” the statement added. “Iyara is with you.”
