The State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), chaired the inauguration of the newly elected State and Local Government Executives of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) for 2026.
The event was held on Monday, at the Glass House, Kogi State Government House, Lokoja.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the Special Adviser to the Governor on State Capital Development, Hon. Nathaniel Ojo Taiwo, who represented the Security Adviser at the event, congratulated both the outgoing and newly inaugurated executives on a successful transition.
He noted that the level of cooperation demonstrated by youths across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state shows that the youth are getting it right. “The youth are now the leaders of today, because the tomorrow we talk about is now,” he said.
According to him, he assured that adequate security measures are in place to tackle and win the war against insecurity in the State. He added that Kogi would be free of crime and criminality if youths continues to harmonize and work together in this manner. He therefore, urged the newly inaugurated executives to sensitize and re-orient Kogi youths for better understanding.
He urged Kogi youths to continue to mobilize massively for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA, in the 2027 presidential and gubernatorial elections.
