The Ijumu Development Union (IDU) has commiserated with the people of Iyara Community over the passing of their traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Oba Meduteni Jacob, the Eleta of Oluyara.
In a condolence letter signed by the National President, Ahmed-Ade Fatai, and National Secretary, Ogungbamiwa Yinusa Sesan, the National Executive Committee and entire membership of the IDU described the late monarch’s death as a huge loss to Iyara Kingdom and the wider Ijumu land, which they said has been thrown into mourning.
The union described Oba Meduteni Jacob as a peaceful and visionary leader whose reign was defined by wisdom, unity and a strong commitment to the progress of his people, adding that his departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt across the kingdom.
While extending solidarity to the Royal Family, the Eleta-in-Council and the people of Iyara Kingdom, the IDU said it finds comfort in the legacy of service left behind by the late Kabiyesi.
The union prayed that God would grant the family strength to bear the loss, give the departed monarch eternal rest, and grant Iyara Kingdom peace and unity as it navigates the transition.
