The community of Oke-Offin Bunu, in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State came alive with jubilation as Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), the State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, inspected and handed over a drainage project constructed and funded by him to the community.
Speaking during the handing-over ceremony, the OluwoOluwoa of Oke offin Bunu, HRH Oba James Adeniyi Ayinmode, expressed special thanks to God for the gift of Commander Jerry Omodara to Oke-Offin, noting that his passion for community development cannot be overemphasized.

Oba James Ayinmode highlighted how Commander Omodara had been a great pillar to the community right from his days in the Nigerian Navy and as the then President of the Oke-Offin Development Association.
He stated further that Omodara, as a retired Navy officer and former President of the community development association, has never stopped being a leader of note, as his impact is well felt by all and sundry in the community.
In separate remarks, the representative of the Oke-Offin Development Association, Elder Gideon Amupitan, expressed on behalf of the association and the good people of Oke-Offin their utmost gratitude to Commander Omodara, stating that his commitment and dedication to developing the Oke-Offin community is highly commendable.
Elder Amupitan explained how severe erosion had damaged roads and houses in the areas where the drainage was constructed.
He said the President of the Oke-Offin Development Association had consistently appealed for funds through its platforms to construct the drainage until Commander Omodara took the project upon himself.
Addressing the crowd, Commander Omodara expressed deep appreciation to God Almighty and to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his steadfast support for Kabba/Bunu LGA and Kogi State at large.
Omodara commended the pace and quality of work done to reclaim the road and land long devastated by erosion. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the Oke-Offin community, where he hails from, to continue to advocate for peace and drive sustainable development in the community.
