The Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), says the improved security situation across Kogi State and the country is as a result of the commitment of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to guaranteeing a safe and peaceful environment.
Commander Omodara spoke on the sidelines of an APC interactive session with stakeholders from the five local government areas of Okun land in Kogi West, organised for the party’s local government and state executives.

He pointed to a string of recent security successes as proof that the country’s security agencies are working in concert to record major gains, listing the rescue of kidnap victims in Orire, Oyo State, a rescue operation in Niger State, the rescue of victims in Olowa, Dekina, Kogi State two weeks ago, and the neutralisation of a notorious figure identified as Batijo in Kogi State.
According to him, the Navy, Army, DSS, Police, and vigilante groups are operating in synergy because of the pragmatic leadership of both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, and he insisted the governor deserves as much credit as the President for the gains recorded.
“The peace we are beginning to enjoy in Kogi and across the country is not by accident. It is the product of deliberate policies, commitment and the political will of both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo,” he told journalists.
Omodara described the interactive meeting as critical to the APC’s prospects in the 2027 general elections and urged party leaders, stakeholders, and political appointees across Okun land to rally behind the re-election bids of Tinubu and Ododo.
“Time has come for all appointees to show their skills in mobilizing for the project. It will no longer be business as usual,” he warned.
“Any appointee who refuses to identify with this project will be penalized. It is time for everyone to show their true colors. Anyone who wants to be with us should show it, and anyone who doesn’t should also come out, instead of playing hide and seek.”
He called for unity among party leaders and members, describing internal cohesion as key to delivering victory for the APC in 2027, and promised sustained engagement with leaders and stakeholders in Kogi West ahead of the polls.
“Henceforth, such meetings will continue to be regular for leaders, stakeholders and members to interact for the growth and progress of the party,” he said.
We will continue to work with other leaders in Kogi West to unite the party and ensure we have a great outing in 2027.
The interactive session, convened by the Kogi West Zonal Chairman, was attended by APC chairmen, executives, and key stakeholders from Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West, and Mopa-Muro local government areas.
