HRM. Oba (Col) Olusegun Oloruntoba rtd, the Olugbede of Gbede Land in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State is to confer an Honourary Chieftaincy titles on Alh. Lamidi Olorunmaiye Bojuwon and his wife, Hajia Sifau Omolola Bojuwon on Saturday May 25th 2024.
The honour for the Bojuwon family is in recognition of their immense contribution to Aiyegunle Gbede Community and Gbede Kingdom in extension.
The programme will hold at the palace of Olugbede in Okoro Gbede at 10 O’clock in the morning to be followed by a reception at Aiyegunle Gbede.

Alhaji Lamidi Olorunmaiye Bojuwon, born on February 22, 1956, in Ayegunle Gbede, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, stands as an eminent figure whose life story is characterized by academic brilliance, professional accomplishments, and unwavering dedication to community service.
His educational odyssey commenced at Kabba Division Primary School, Ayegunle Gbede, spanning from 1964 to 1971. In 1972, he embarked on a pioneering journey as a student at Baptist Secondary Commercial School, Iyah Gbede. Driven by a fervent commitment to education, Alhaji Bojuwon pursued his studies at Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin, earning a National Diploma (ND) in Marketing from 1980 to 1982. This pursuit continued at Lagos State Polytechnic, culminating in the attainment of a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration in 1987. His quest for knowledge reached its zenith with a Master of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom, in 1998.
Alhaji Bojuwon’s professional journey carried a commendable international dimension, serving at the Nigeria High Commission in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and later at the Nigeria High Commission in Kingston, Jamaica, from 1993 to 1999 and 2003 to 2006, respectively, in the capacity of Finance Attaché Mission. Transitioning to the Accountant-General of the Federation’s Office in 2006, he later joined the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in December of the same year. With the autonomy of FIRS in 2011, he moved to the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, ultimately concluding his distinguished career as the Director of Finance and Administration at the National Agricultural Seed Council in 2016.
A distinguished member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Alhaji Bojuwon holds the esteemed title of Chartered Accountant. Additionally, he is recognized as an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACIT), showcasing his expertise in financial matters.
Alhaji Bojuwon’s commitment to community service dates back to his undergraduate days in the early 1980s. As an active member of the Ayegunle Gbede Students Union (AGSU), he served as the General Secretary, contributing significantly to the union’s achievements. Furthermore, he played a pivotal role in the establishment of the defunct Ohon Micro Finance Bank (OMFB) and once served as one of its directors. A testament to his leadership qualities, Alhaji Bojuwon assumed the role of the National President of the Ayegunle Gbede Descendant Union (AGDU), the highest socio-cultural organ of the community, between December 2011 and 2014, before embarking on a journey to the United Kingdom for further studies.
Alhaji Bojuwon is happily married to Alhaja Sifau Lola Bojuwon, and their union is blessed with children.
