As a traditional form of marketing, billboards have established its significance as a prominent advertising medium, evolving to maintain relevance and provide values in the dynamic marketing landscape.

 

Billboards advertising is a type of outdoor advertisement that uses large boards to display promotional messages in high traffic and strategic areas.

The effectiveness of billboards lied heavily on it’s location. The boards are strategically placed along highways, busy streets and in urban centers with maximum visibility. Organizations and companies utilise billboard advertisement to reach wider audience and strengthen brand recognition.

 

Also Billboard advertisement offers high visibility and has the potential to grab attention from a large audience, making it a powerful out-of-home advertising method.

 

With proper media planning, billboard advertisement can effectively target specific demographics and increase brand awareness amongst the populace.

 

When it comes to out-of-home advertising or outdoor advertisement, billboard advertisement is a popular choice for many businesses as it create more awareness about goods and services, bringing inflow of customers and generating more income for the growth of the company and the society.

 

However, as good as the benefits of Billboards Advertising could be, if it’s operation is not properly regulated it would lead to environmental hazards and societal disorder.

 

It was as a result of this that Kogi State Government created and established the Kogi State Signage and Advertising Agency ( KOSSAA).

 

A creation of the Kogi State House Law, Kogi State Signage and Advertising Agency was established and empowered by Law to carry out regulatory activities over outdoor advertising within the state.

 

As regulatory body, the Agency is saddled with the responsibility of to controlling, regulating monitoring, and managing the mounting of Billboards across state.

 

With this the Agency is authorized by Law to ride the State of illegal and indiscriminate mounting of billboards, pasting of political posters, social, religious and commercial campaign posters.

 

As a creation of the law, it is now mandatory for business owners, religious organizations, politicians and whoever that is interested in displaying their products and goods through the use of billboards, Signage or mobile branding advertisement to get approval or register with the Agency as anything contrary to this is prohibited by law and attract sanctions.

 

Kogi State Signage and Advertising Agency is poised to create a conducive environment for everyone and required cooperation from business community, religious organizations and all stakeholders to make the State a better place to live.

 

Like other States, Kogi State Signage and Advertising Agency (KOSSAA) has come to stay and it is poised to making sure that the environment is habitable, orderly and save in order to attract investors, grow the State economy and FasTrack the development of Kogi State.
