Black Sunday: Bandits Attack Niger Community, Burn Catholic Priest Alive

Report just reaching the Drum Reporters says Bandits at the early hours of Sunday attacked Kafin Koro Community in Paikoro Local government of Niger State.

 

An Eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity told The Drum Reporters that the Bandits got to the community at about 1am and began shooting sporadically.

 

According to him, they proceeded to the House of Very Rev Fr Isaac Achi of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church Kaffi Koro, forced their way into his House by breaking the wall and set him ablaze.

They also shot his Assistant whose name is yet to be ascertain and kidnapped the Cook of the Priest.

 

The incident was further confirmed by a resident of the Community, Luka Jagaba in a post on his Facebook Page.

 

The Post reads “What a black Sunday for the Catholic diocese of Minna and Kafin- Koro deanery, Rev. Fr Isaac Achi has been burnt into Ashes by the bandits at his home resident kafin-Koro and his assistant who sustained gun short has been rush to hospital, please where are we going APC government come and save us, our churches under attack every day and nothing is been done. What a fail nation. May the soul of fr Isaac Achi and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in perfect peace Amen”

 

As at the time of filling this report, the Police is yet to comment on the matter.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer of Niger State Command is yet to respond to message from our Reporter.

May God save and heal our Land. Our leaders should have the fear of God in their hearts. It’s not possible that people are dying everyday and yet no solutions. The goverment should be sincere and work for the commun good. For how long are will going to continue like this?
