The State Security Adviser to Kogi State Government, Comdr. Duro Jerry Omodara (Rtd) has commended Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, for recognizing the State Community Policing Initiatives, through the immediate approval of the upward review of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) Personnel monthly stipend in line with the current State Service provision and formalization of the employment of KSVS into the Kogi State Civil Service Commission with issuance of employment letters by the Head of Service.
The Governor had also directed the re-absorption of unjustly dismissed KSVS personnel; as well as fresh recruitment of five hundred (500) personnel.
The Security Adviser in a statement described the moves as significant gesture, noting that it reflects the Governor’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the security forces and reinforces the importance His Excellency placed on ensuring the safety of the people.
Comdr. Omodara opined that this salary enhancement will not only boost the morale of the officers but also enhance their capacity to protect the State from emerging security challenges.
He noted that this upward salaries review is another direct investment of the administration of Governor Ododo in the security infrastructure of Kogi State, enabling the Vigilante Service to operate with even greater effectiveness, vigilance and commitment.
Omodara reiterated his beliefs that this initiative will further strengthen the resolves of the Vigilante Service to remain steadfast in their dedication to ensuring the safety and peace of Kogi State.
