Dignitaries To Storm Iyamoye Community Historic Cultural Event

Iyamoye Community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State will be agog with Dignitaries from all walks of life expected to grace the celebration and showcasing of the rich Cultural heritage of the historic Community.

The event which has been slated for 30th September, 2023 at the proposed Obaro of Iyamoye Palace Ground will also witness an appeal funds for N150 million naira for Community developmental projects such as: the building of a Skill Acquisition Centre, renovation of blocks of classroom of Community Schools, completion of Town Hall and provision of potable water for the Community, to mention but a few.

Prominent among Dignitaries that will grace the event are the Kogi State Executive Governor Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello who is the Special Guest of Honour, Otunba Olusegun Rosewe the DG National Council of Art and Culture as the Chairman of the event, Rt. Hon. Abiodun James Faleke Member Representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Finance is the Chief Launcher for the event, His Excellency the former Executive Governor of Osun State and Minister of Internal Affairs Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola as Co-Launcher will also be present.

The Gubernatorial Candidates of the leading political parties in Kogi State forthcoming Election comprises Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye, Mr. Olayinka Adenehon Braimoh, Alhaji Ododo Usman Ahmed, Rt Hon. Abejide Leke member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, and Alhaji Muri Yakubu Ajaka are all Co-Launchers at the epic event.

Also assured to be present are Distinguished Senator Karimi Senator representating Kogi West Senatorial District, Hon. Arc. Salman Idris, member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, and Princess Omotayo Adeleye-Ishaya member representing Ijumu Constituency in the State Assembly are Special Guest of Honour. Mrs Folashade Esan the Head of Service of the Federation and host of other prominent Nigerians too numerous to mention here will be attending the event.

The Chief Host of this historic event is our illustrious son Aremo Alhaji Abdulganiyu Obatoyinbo DG Public Service Training Institute, Abuja, all past Presidents of Iyamoye Development Union (IDU) to mention few Dr. J. O. Daniel, Otunba Engr. Olusegun Anjorin, Mal U. O. Salami, Dr. Remi Medupin, Alhaji Gbodi Ololajulo Adamu (King of Boys) and the immediate past President Alhaji Murtala Kola Akintota; erudite Professors and Scholars in the academic circle of Iyamoye extraction Professor Femi Sumaila, Professor Haruna Kazeem, Professor Munirat Yusuf Habeeb, Prefessor Juwon Daniel Arotupin; Paramount Traditional Rulers Olujumu of Ijumu land and others across Okun Land and ofcourse notable personalities like General Tahir Oshe Umar, Alhaji Adebola Sheidu, Dr. Dare Otitoju, Mrs. Abbey T. Zubairu ACP (Mrs.) Ibukun Balogun Davies and host of others personalities from Iyamoye, friends and Associates of Iyamoye will be conspicuously in attendance.

The Obaro of Iyamoye His Royal Majesty Oba Ibrahim Momoh Ademiniyi, Amuwajoye I as the Royal Father of the Day, will confer Chieftaincy titles on some prominent Guests and personalities at the event.

The National President of Iyamoye Development Union Alhaji Adeyemi Abubakar Shittu who doubles as the Host for the event has promised that the event is going to be massive and would attract prospective Investors, Industrialists and Tourists to invest maximally in the Community after the event. He also promised that the event will mark a new dawn in the history of okun nation and Kogi State in general.

The aged long rich Culture of Iyamoye, which include but not limited to Omoloro, Imole, Okereseke, Agbamoye and Egungun will be demonstrated.

Most importantly, major tourist centres that will attract Investors to be visited on 29th September, 2023 are Awaja Mountain, Oroke Epo, Oluko (used to be a peace haven for our forefathers during wars and external aggressions) and Abodu (Where some Kings in Ijumu LGA used to come for training before becoming substantive heads of their towns).

Other side attractions to be included are; “Udi mo fefefe oun ko wole de, “wowo”, “okolobo-kolobo” etc, paying of homage to the Obaro by peer groups.
