The General Manager of Seven Up Bottling Company Ltd, Ilorin, Pastor Zacchaeus Timilehin Aroniyo, is among 10 individuals and organisations to be honoured at the 2026 Egbeda-Egga Day celebration in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The awards form part of the community’s yearly cultural and developmental celebration, and are meant to reward outstanding contributions to Egbeda-Egga.
Aroniyo will receive a Special Award of Recognition alongside the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi. The award acknowledges them as distinguished friends of the community.
Hon. Mayowa Idris and Hon. Abimbola Aremu will get Awards of Recognition for Outstanding Omo Egga.

The community will also confer Honorary Chieftaincy Titles on Prince Olatunji Olusoji and Hon. Toyin Omole.
Two departed sons, the late Pa Joshua Jide Ojo (Oluganmo) and the late Mr. Samuel Adeniyi Mesaiyete, will be honoured posthumously for their legacies.
In the corporate category, Dufil Prima Foods Ltd, makers of Indomie, and Nigerbev Nig. Ltd, producers and distributors of Best Wines and Liquor, will receive Outstanding Corporate Partners Awards for their consistent support of the annual celebration.
The event holds from October 1 to 4, 2026, in Egbeda-Egga. Prominent indigenes, traditional rulers, government officials, corporate organisations and friends of the community are expected to attend.
A major highlight is the community’s ₦800m development appeal, aimed at raising funds for projects and the advancement of the community.
The organisers said the celebration would promote the community’s heritage, reward service and strengthen unity among Omo Egga at home and in the diaspora.
The Central Planning Committee, chaired by Comrade (Prince) Mike Olanrewaju, is coordinating the event.
