I am filled with immense joy and pride to celebrate my university classmate from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Hon. Dr. Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye, on his well-deserved elevation to the rank of Dr. ( PHD )
Dr. Hon. Omofaiye is a rare blend of scholarship, public service and traditional leadership. He is a man who has successfully combined academic excellence with impactful service to humanity.
His Journey of Service:
Dr. Omofaiye started his political journey from the grassroots as Councillor representing Ekinrin-Adde Ward. His dedication and capacity took him to the National Assembly as Senior Legislative Aide to a Senator in 2007.
He was later elected to represent Ijumu State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, where he distinguished himself and rose to become the *Chief Whip of the Assembly in 2017*. Driven by a passion for wider representation, he also contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
In the executive arm, he has served meritoriously as Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Kogi State, and presently serves as the Director-General of Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion and Market Development Agency (KOSCEPA).
Beyond politics, he is a revered community leader and holds the prestigious traditional title of Alara of Ogidi Kingdom.
The Academic Milestone:
What makes this celebration most special is his unwavering commitment to education. While actively serving in public office, Prof. Omofaiye pursued his academic calling with diligence and has now attained the pinnacle of academic achievement of PHD.
It is a true testament to hard work, resilience and love for knowledge.
From our days in ABU Zaria to this glorious height, you have remained humble, focused and inspiring.
