Glitz and Glamour as IASS 1992 Set Reunite after 32 Years

It was a two day glitz and glamour as former students of Ijumu Anglican Secondary School (IASS) Iyara, the 1992 set reunited last weekend after 32 years.

 

The IASS 92′ Set popularly known as “The Billionaires” gathered at Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, while others from all walks of life joined virtually to reflect on the past and unite for a better future.

The reunion, started at the Assembly ground of the great citadel of learning on Friday with members of the class of 1992 in attendance.

 

The atmosphere was electrified with excitement throughout the entire two days event as Old friends hugged each other tightly amidst tears of joy streaming down their faces.

 

Also, it was a time to reflect on the events of the past air as they reminisced about old times and shared stories about their lives since leaving school.

 

In his remarks, the President of the IASS 92′ Set, Mr. Cornelius Ajayi, expressed his delight and appreciation to God for the privilege given to members to meet after 32 years of leaving the Secondary School.

 

“It’s amazing to see how much everyone has grown and achieved,” Mr. Ajayi said.

 

“We’ve had people come from all over the country, and even from abroad. It’s a testament to the strong bonds we formed during our time at Second School.

 

The Class of 92′ also held a parade through the streets of Iyara to remember how they walk to and fro to School.

 

Awards were presented to Alumni who did exceptionally well for the reunion to take place and in recognition of their commitment to unity and wellbeing of members.

 

In the same vein, the Set extended its milk of kindness to their former teachers with Conferment of Awards in recognition of their impact the during years of studies.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim expressed satisfaction with the activities of the Set, describing it as a step in the right direction.

 

The Chairman noted that he was amazed and impressed about the reunion of the 92 Billionaire set and the development intended by the 92 sets in the community.

 

While Ace Okun Musician, MOB was on ground to entertain the members, Hospitals were visited by the President and Excos of the 92 Billionaire set with cash donation, and a promise to engage teachers for the School.
