HOW “OPERATION ROAD SANITY” AIMS TO SAVE NIGERIAN BUSINESSES BILLIONS LOST TO ILLEGAL ROAD LEVIES

New Initiative by The Sanity Group Seeks to Protect Goods, Staff and Profits in Line with Tax Reform Act.

Every day, trucks carrying goods across Nigeria are stopped multiple times, not by law, but by unauthorized persons demanding illegal levies. For manufacturers, distributors and transporters, this has become a hidden tax that erodes profit, delays delivery, and puts staff at risk.

To address this, Prince Dan Olaitan Dada, Convener of Sanity Multi-Efforts Forum and Managing Director of Sanity Multi-Efforts Limited, has announced the nationwide deployment of “Operation Road Sanity” under The Sanity Group.

The Sanity Group is made up of three organizations working together: Sanity Multi-Efforts Forum, Sanity Multi-Efforts Limited, and Dansavist Multi Concept Limited. Their joint focus is to restore order, protect legitimate business, and ensure that all revenue payments go into official government channels as provided by the Federal Government’s Tax Reform Act 2025-2026.

THE PROBLEM ON OUR ROADS

From Lagos to Kano, Port Harcourt to Abuja, businesses face the same three challenges:
1. Multiple illegal collections on a single trip by touts and fake taskforces.
2. Confusion and harassment over vehicle documents even when papers are complete.
3. Hours lost in traffic, roadblocks and negotiations that increase cost per delivery.

The result is higher prices for consumers, damaged goods, tired drivers, and revenue that never gets to government coffers.

WHO IS THE SANITY GROUP

1. Sanity Multi-Efforts Forum – SMEF: Leads national advocacy and engages government to protect businesses and ensure policy is followed.
2. Sanity Multi-Efforts Limited – SMEL: Works directly with companies to audit fleets, process documents, and ensure 100 percent compliance.
3. Dansavist Multi Concept Limited – DSMCL: Provides technical support. The team has over nine years’ experience working with the revenue authorities of Kwara, Oyo, Osun and Kogi States, and with more than ten Local Governments since 2010.
