Dr. Idris Rufus Oluwafemi (IDRUFEM), a frontline aspirant to the House of Representatives, Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, has said that the Ijumu Cultural event is a celebration of our identity, our shared history, our resilient spirit, and the values that bind the people as one united entity.
He made this statement at the 2025 Ijumu Cultural Festival celebration through Mr Akinyemi Felix Shola, the ADC Chairman, Ijumu LGA, who represented Dr Idris at the event.
In his speech, he said, “It is with immense joy, gratitude, and a deep sense of connection that I extend my heartfelt goodwill message to you all on the auspicious occasion of the 2025 Ijumu Cultural Festival Celebration”.
He continued, “Ijumu Cultural Festival is more than a cultural event—it is a celebration of our identity, our shared history, our resilient spirit, and the values that bind us as one united people. It is a reminder of the strength of our heritage, the richness of our traditions, and the immense potential that lies within our land and its people”
As we gather to celebrate this year’s edition, may we renew our commitment to peace, unity, and community development. Let us continue to uphold the virtues of hard work, integrity, mutual respect, and collective progress for which Ijumu is widely known.
I salute our traditional rulers, community leaders, youth, women, and all sons and daughters of Ijumu—both at home and in the diaspora—for their continuous contributions to the growth and advancement of our beloved land. Your resilience and unwavering dedication inspire hope for a brighter future.
On this joyful occasion, I pray that God continues to bless Ijumu with peace, prosperity, and abundant opportunities. May the spirit of togetherness that this day represents guide us toward greater achievements in the years ahead.
“Happy Ijumu Day Celebration!
Onward together for a greater Ijumu”. He wrapped up the message.
