Ijumu LG Caretaker Chairman Inaugurates 50 Local Hunters.

Charges Them on Flushing Criminals

The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna DSTV on Wednesday Inaugurated 50 Local Hunters for the effective policing of the nooks and crannies of the Area.

Recall that Kogi State House of Assembly recently approved the request of the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to recruit 50 Local Hunters each across the 21 Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking at the occasion, the caretaker Chairman, said the move was aimed at protecting the lives and properties of citizens.

Alhaji Haruna called on the hunters to work with traditional Rulers and other security agencies to ensure synergy and harmonious coexistence.


He reiterated that the present administration of Governor Ododo is diligently collaborating with relevant security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the populace and their possession at all times.

Alhaji Haruna noted that security is a collective responsibility and that newly Recruited 50 Local Hunters can helps in intelligence and information gathering in other to curtail bad elements in Ijumu LGA.

The caretaker Chairman further said that the hunters understand the terrain of the forest, hence their engagement for enhanced local security.

The Special Assistant on Security to the caretaker Chairman, Hon. Adeyemi Gbenga expressed appreciation to the Caretaker Boss for giving priority to issues of security.

He charged the hunters to be more proactive and take the opportunity to showcase their capacity in making our local Government crime free.
