The Transition Caretaker Chairman Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna DSTV, has felicitated with Ijumu, Kogites and Nigerians on this Year’s Democracy Day.

 

In a Goodwill message he personally signed and made available to Journalists, Alhaji Haruna said Nigerians should celebrate this year’s Democracy Day in view of the smooth, peaceful, and successful transition from one civil administration to another.

 

“As we mark this year’s Democracy Day, it’s important that we pay glowing tributes to all those who risked their lives to end military dictatorship and enthroned democracy in the country.

 

He further said “They are the heroes of our democracy, and it’s my prayer that their labour of sacrifice shall not be in vain.”

 

According to the Caretaker, his administrations mantra encapsulated in the people’s first Agenda and commitment to economic growth, prosperity and security across Ijumu Local Government Area.

 

Alhaji Haruna urged Ijumu citizens and Kogites to support the present administration in the State and National levels to enable them succeed, noting that democratic gain’s could only be achieved with the backing and encouragement of the people.

 

The caretaker Chairman urged citizens to shun acts capable of truncating democratic governance in Ijumu, Kogi in particular, and Nigeria in general.

 

“On behalf of my Family, the Government, and the good people of Ijumu LGA, I Congratulate Ijumu, Kogi in particular, and Nigeria in general on the commemoration of the 2024 Democracy Day, Today June 12,” the chairman said.
