Kogi State Government on Monday sympathized with the people of Iyara, headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area over the Rainstorm that destroyed many houses on Friday, 24th March 2023.
Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Victor Omofaiye in a statement said the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello identifies with the Victims, Traditional Council and people of Iyara over the unfortunate incident.
Hon. Omofaiye, said such occurrence is a natural disaster that can happen to any Community and promised that the New Direction Administration will support the victims to enable resume their normal life.
He also sympathized with those that Sustained injuries in the Storm and prayed God to grant them speedy recovery.
The Commissioner used the opportunity to encourage the people to plant trees that can stand as wind breaker to avoid future occurrence.
