KEDA Takes KG-Cares RA3 SMEs Sensitization to Kogi East

As part of effort to ameliorate the sufferings of Small Scale Businesses occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic, Kogi Enterprises Development Agency has organised a Sensitization programme on KG-CARES (COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus) Result Area 3, Micro and Small Enterprises grant in Kogi East Senatorial District.

Managing Director of the Agency,(KEDA), Hajia Rekiya Sanni while speaking at the ceremony held at Anyigba, said Kogi State Government will continue to give priority to Small Scale Businesses to strive in the State.

Hajia Rekiya said sensitizing the citizens on the importance of result Area 3 SME’s grant is necessary to acquaint the people the the prerequisite of the Programme, noting that if properly utilized would help boost economy of the state and reduce poverty in the rural areas.

The Managing Director explained that the programme is out to assist those whose capital were liquidated during Covid 19 pandemic and called on women, youth, people living with disability to avail themselves the opportunity and access the loan.

She called on beneficiaries to give concrete information while giving their data to enable them benefit from the grant, pointing out that the Enumeration exercise is free of charge.

The State Commissioner of Woman Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Buba commended Management of KEDA for taken Sensitization exercise to the grassroots, saying that it would help capture more beneficiaries to achieve desired goal.

The KG CARE’s Chairman, Alhaji Sanni Haruna said the programme is anchored on three result Areas which include, Increased Social transfers basic services and livelihood support to poor and vulnerable household, increasing food security and safe functioning of food supply chain for poor household and facilitating recovery and enhancing capabilities MSE’s.

The Onu Ankpa Alhaji Abdulkarem Umar said the Programme will reduce poverty at the grassroots and prayed for the sustenability of the projects for set objective.
