The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has delivered it’s judgement in a case filed by one Barrister Mohammed Suleiman Akimbo against the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Assembly Candidate for Igalamela Odolu State Constituency Comrade Zakito Umar.

The Court of Appeal first decided to determine the appeal based on the issues formulated by the Appellant to whether non compliance with section 97 of the Sheriffs and Civil process Act, 2004 is a mere irregularity that does not render Originating process of the Appellant incompetent or touch on the substantive suit: and whether Federal High Court enjoys nationwide territorial jurisdiction.

The plaintiff, Muhammed Suleiman Akimbo had approached the Court of Appeal Abuja for the disqualification of Alhaji Umar candidacy for next year State Assembly election.

While dismissing the suit seeking to disqualify Alhaji Umar as PDP State Assembly Candidate, the trial Judge knocked Hon. Suleiman Mohammed’s case for being void, incompetent and lacking in merit.

Reacting to the judgement, the PDP candidate for Igalamela Odolu State Constituency ALH ZAKITO UMAR appealed to all his constituents and the good people of Igalamela-Odolu to vote for him in the forthcoming general elections for effective and quality representation to attract physical and infrastructural development to his Constituency.

According to him, this will enable his constituent to enjoy good representation, governance, massive infrastructural and human developments.

He also appealed to his supporters to embrace everyone including the opponent who has been on litigation, adding that, they should work together as one indivisible entity to rescue their people from poverty, insecurity and unemployment.

The former Igalamala Odolu Local Government Chairman further promised never to segregate anyone and thank all the leaders of the party both Federal, State and Local level and the entire good people of Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Areas for their unflinching support prayers and understanding.

“This judgement is a victory for democracy and all the good People of Igalamela Odolu Local Government. I promise to do my best if elected to bring dividend of democracy to our people.

“Our Local Government deserve the best in Kogi, hence the need to elect a Man like me who has been tested and trusted with leadership position. We are numbering the days of All Progressive Congress, (APC), bad leadership in Kogi State. Nigerians have all made up their minds to kick out all this fraudulent element who came into power with the idea of change, which has now turned to chaining our people with bad governance, poverty, insecurities, unemployment and bad economy in the last seven and half years” he added.
