In his statement, Nihi remarked that the primary election marked not only a crowning achievement for Ododo, as he is fondly referred to, but also a triumph for the APC party in Kogi State.

He noted that the contest was hard-fought, given the willing sacrifices of other aspirants to step down, and that Ododo’s victory is a testament to his character and unwavering commitment to serving the people of Kogi State.

This development ensued after seven others, including Dr. Edward Onoja, Deputy Governor of Kogi State, and Pharm Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku, Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State, in a closed door meeting, had bowed to the overwhelming consensus to throw their full weight behind Dr. Usman Ododo, whom amongst others, had been privileged to catch the Incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello’s favor as a successor.

As the state gears up for the upcoming November gubernatorial election, the Senior Special Assistant who doubles as an ardent Youth Leader, implored Dr. Ododo to bear in mind the invaluable trust reposed in him by party leaders and members and to endeavor to uphold the same through exceptional service to the people of Kogi.

While exhorting the Party Ticket Holder to maintain fealty to the values and tenets that have propelled his progress thus far, Nihi fervently entreated Ododo to conduct a campaign that unequivocally espouses inclusivity for the youth, women, and persons living with disabilities in his administration; security-value; regional/tribal harmony; health guarantees…among other pivotal issues that are of importance to Kogi State and its people, just as his Principal and forerunner, Governor Yahaya Bello, before him, had done.

“Your victory is not just due to your political prowess, but to the goodwill and support of the leaders and people you seek to represent. I am confident that you will continue to serve the people of Kogi State with distinction, and that your tenure as their leader will bring about positive change and progress. The journey ahead may be tough, but the people of Kogi State are counting on you.” Nihi topped off.
