Kogi NSCDC Boss Monitors Rerun Election in Dekina/Bassa Fed. Constituency

Kogi State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Ahmad Gandi on Saturday joined other heads of Security to monitor Supplementary election in Dekina Bassa Federal Constituency.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had declared as inconclusive, the February 25th 2023 house of Representatives/Senate election nation wide, some local governments in some states of the federation.

The rerun was conducted in 44 Polling Units in 8 Wards in Dekina Local Government namely; Dekina town, Emewe, Odu, Abocho, Ademu Egume,  Okura Olafia, Anyingba and Oganenigu.

The Commandant along side other senior officers of the command were on ground monitoring the process as it unfold.

In a statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, Alex Agiri, the monitoring of the election was to checkmate any form or act that may want to undermine the peaceful conduct of the rerun election.

“His presence is to curb any form of insecurity and to forestall peace & tranquility in the electioneering areas; ensuring that lives, properties & critical national assets are properly secured.”

The State commandant admonished the personnel to be professional in discharge of their duties while stressing the need to be apolitical & shun any kind of gratification from desperate politicians who might want to lure them into mischievous & maneuvering acts that could be inimical to their profession.

He equally warned any populace or politicians who may want to indulge in any kind of nefarious act to change for the best or face the full wrath of the law.
