Kogi Govt. Shutdown Illegal Daarul kitab Islamin Training Centre, Indefinitely

Kogi State Government has sealed Daarul kitab Islamin Training Centre in Zariagi area of Adavi Local Government where 23 Students were kidnapped by unknown gun men on the 26th of April, 2026 for operating without the State Government approval

Recall that The Drum Reporter reported that Kogi Govt Confirms Rescue of All Abducted Orphanage Victims

The State Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones on Thursday led a team from the State Ministry of Education to seal the school and directed the proprietor of the school to report to the Ministry with immediate effect.

He directed that the school will remain closed until Government is satisfied that all the requirements for the establishment of school are meant before it can be reopened.

Kogi State Government he said is alive to its responsibility of ensuring that schools in the State are conducive and safe for teaching and learning, noting that the Government will not compromise standards in the establishment of Schools.

The Commissioner said though the proprietor has commenced the process of registration, the School ought not to have been opened until approval is given.

Recalled that on the 26th of April 2026, unknown gunmen invaded the premises of the School and abducted 23 pupils including the wife of the Proprietor

The victims have long regained their freedom after a combined efforts of Security Agencies.
