March 30th: Maiden Gbede Day Gets More Endorsement As Planning Committee Woos Dignitaries

The maiden Gbede Day, the celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Gbede people in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State has continued to gather momentum as dignitaries have agreed to grace the occasion.

 

The epoch making event is scheduled to hold on Saturday 30th March 2024 at Ayetoro Gbede.

 

As part of the strategy for success outing of the event which will feature launching of N500m Fund for the construction of the Palace of Olugbede of Gbede Kingdom, the Planning Committee led by its Chairman, HRH Oba David Tayo Faleke, the Olu of Iyah Gbede stormed Abuja, the nation’s capital to woo dignitaries as well as illustrious sons and daughters of Gbede land.

The Programme is also a brain child of the Olu Gbede of Gbede, HRM. Oba (Col rtd) Olusegun Oloruntoba to promote unity which is panacea for peace and development.

 

The Committee were in the office of Arc. Salman Idris, member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr Oladele Oyelola, Prof. S.O Ale, Prof. Kupolati, Vice Admiral Joseph Ajayi, Prince Shola Akanmode, Amb. Chief Mrs Funmi Bodunde and many others.

 

Chief Lasisi Ajege, Prince Dr E O Jeminiwa, Abraham Ojo and Dr Michael Ayo Bello were other members of the Committee as delegated by HRM, OBA (COL) OLUSEGUN OLORUNTOBA, THE OLUGBEDE OF GBEDE KINGDOM.

The Committee also visited some Dignitaries in Lokoja as well as sons and daughters of Gbede Kingdom, who pledged their support.
