NULGE Applauds Governor Ododo Over Improved Workers Welfare

The Ijumu Local Government Chapter of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees has applauded Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo over the improved welfare for workers at the third tier of government.

 

They gave the commendation during a meeting with the Transition Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna on Monday, with Management Staff in attendance at the Secretariat in Iyara.

The LGA NULGE Chairman, Comrade Dare Emmanuel, said with the improvement in the salary of LG workers, Governor Ododo has fulfilled his promises to workers at that tier of government, urging him to do more.


Comrade Emmanuel noted that with the gesture, the Governor has laid a good foundation of ending percentage salaries for Local Government workers in the State.

According to him, the development has given LG Workers and Pensioners a sense of belonging in view of the current economic challenges in the country.

He said:” we want to thank the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for fulfilling his promises made to workers, we are grateful for what he’s doing for both state and local government workers.

The Transition Caretaker Chairman, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim in his response appreciated the management for their support to the present administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and urged them to be dedicated to duties.

We are indeed grateful to the Ododo led government for prioritizing worker’s welfare and we pray that the administration’s prosperity Agenda continue to blossom in the state” said the Caretaker Chairman.

 

The Caretaker Chairman promised his continued commitment to implementing the welfare agenda of Governor Ododo in the Local Government.

He said one of his first move upon assumption of office was the reconnection of the Local Government Secretariat to the National grid after ten years of darkness.

He solicited the support and cooperation of the workers as well as the management team for the State Government for more gains of democracy.

In his remarks, the Director of Personnel Management, Chief Pedro Durotiwon while speaking on behalf of the Director of Local Government, Mr. Joseph Asaju, thanked the Caretaker Chairman for his tireless efforts in ensuring harmonious and enabling environment for the staff, assuring him of their total support for the the government of the day.
