A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Obanewo Titus Femi has described the Ogidi-Ọmọ Movement as a Political and Social Force that imhas continued to spread like wildfire across Okun land in Kogi State.
Hon. Obanewo, a former Aspirant for Ijumu 1 Constituency stated this in his welcome address as Chairman of the Inauguration of the Gbede Zone of the Movement held in Ayetoro Gbede on Thursday.

In his words, “In truth, I do not see today as merely the inauguration of a movement. Ogidi-Ọmọ is already alive and thriving across Gbedde, Ijumu Arin, Ijumu Oke, Kabba, and indeed the entirety of Okunland.”
“I say this with conviction because I had the privilege of attending the celebration of its 20th anniversary in December 2025, and long before then, I had interacted with many committed members and associates of the movement.
“For me, today is more than an inauguration. It is a celebration of consistency, vision, and enduring political relevance. It is a celebration of a clever and outstanding leader whose impact has stood the test of time — a politician whose name resonates across Kogi State, and whose leadership remains rooted in integrity and sincerity: Hon. Olumoko Funsho Ekundayo.
“While some may call today an inauguration, I see it as the reaffirmation and re-energising of a brand that has grown in strength and influence over the years — a movement that has advanced into a political and social force, a platform impossible to ignore, and one that, by the grace of God, will outlive its founder.
“I am particularly excited and deeply honoured that this historic gathering is taking place in my hometown, Aiyetoro-Gbedde — the undisputed headquarters of Gbedde land, and a community that continues to serve as a unifying point for all the towns and people of Gbedde. The significance of hosting this inauguration here, at a time when we are preaching unity, progress, and renewed hope for the Okun Nation, cannot be overstated.
“I am confident that, like wildfire, the Ogidi-Ọmọ Movement will continue to spread across our land, producing and uniting a new generation of politicians, administrators, and technocrats who will reawaken the Okun leadership aspiration and build a progressive Okun Nation that generations yet unborn will be proud of.
