The Security Adviser to Kogi State Government, Commander Duro Jerry Omodara, FSS, MSS, has commended the Appeal Court decision upholding the earlier ruling of the Election Tribunal where it dismissed the petition challenging the victory of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo as the duly elected Governor at the November 11, 2023 Kogi Gubernatorial Election.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Thursday, Commander Omodara describes the outcome of the Appellate Court as a “Square Peg in a Square Hole” while commending the ruling All Progressives Congress supporters in the State for their continued support for the Ododo led administration. He asserted that the government of His Excellency, Gov. Ododo will drive home more dividends of democracy.

He added that the judgement is a true reflection of what transpired at the poll, noting that the outcome of the election litigation is a confirmation of Governor Ododo’s victory.

Commander Jerry Omodara further stated that the Appeal Court’s ruling should be taken as an act of God’s demonstrated through the people of Kogi State who voted him during the November 11, 2023 gubernatorial election.

He also felicitated with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the APC family in the State, describing the decision of the jurists as a welcome development to uphold the tenets of democracy in the country.

In his final remarks, he urged the various parties and their candidates who participated and lost in the election to accept the Appeal Court judgment as declared in good faith and join the Consolidation Agenda in moving the State forward.

End.
