There was jubilation in Egbeda, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State on Sunday, as the people witnessed major relief. Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), the State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, officially commissioned a new borehole project for the community, marking another important milestone in the development of Egbeda community.
For years, residents of the area had struggled with water scarcity. With the borehole now functional, families can access clean and safe drinking water right in their community.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Commander Omodara reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to rural development, noting that he will continue to support rural communities to ensure the dividends of democracy reach every community.
He, however, called on the people not to relent in supporting Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Kogi State Government.
He added that Governor Ododo is a servant-leader who believes in the wellbeing of his people, and that this trait is evident in all his appointees across the state.
Community members, including women and youths, trooped out in large numbers to thank him for remembering the community and restoring hope.
They noted that the newly commissioned borehole would greatly help to reduce the challenge of water scarcity in the community by providing residents with access to clean and safe water for their daily needs.
Similarly, Commander Omodara commissioned another borehole in Edumo Bunu, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of the state, where residents also commended his efforts and commitment to community development.
Following the commissioning, the borehole projects were formally handed over to community members for their use.
