The Vice Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University Anyigba, Professor Marietu Tenuche has debunked claims of diversion of 31 million naira leveled against management of the University by the Institution’s Alumni Association.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Marietu Tenuche while briefing newsmen in Anyigba, described the report as false and a distraction.

The VC said the allegation was aimed at misleading the public and create diversion from the real issues which management was devoted to resolve with the alumni.

Professor Tenuche highlighted that the alumni had been enmeshed in leadership crisis which she had tried to resolve since her assumption of office as the VC of the school.

The VC explained that while the effort was ongoing, a factional group made a number of requests including release of 17million naira due to the alumni as well as permission to sit at the university’s council.

According to her, the university had stopped collection of Alumni fee since September 2021 after the sum of 17million naira was released to the alumni and the said account closed.

However, while the implications of other requests were being considered, the alumni slammed a suit against it and to pay the sum of 25 million naira as its legal charges owed the alumni’s lawyer.

While condemning in strong terms derogatory swipes against her person, the VC cautioned that the actions of the alumni were capable of causing disaffection and threatening hard-earned peace that the institution worked for.
