The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs and Excise, Jibrin Isah Echocho, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will record a landslide victory in Kogi State during the 2027 presidential election, assuring that the people of Kogi East are fully prepared to deliver overwhelming support for the President.

Senator Echocho made this declaration in Odu Ward 2 shortly after participating in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, where thousands of enthusiastic party faithful reportedly queued behind him in a show of solidarity and political strength.

Speaking to journalists after casting his vote, the federal lawmaker expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that the administration has delivered impactful governance and meaningful development across Nigeria, particularly in Kogi State.

According to him, the achievements of the Tinubu administration in infrastructure, economic reforms, security, and youth empowerment have earned the President widespread acceptance among the people of Kogi East, adding that the region remains one of the strongest support bases for the APC.

Echocho further revealed plans to embark on an extensive door-to-door campaign across the nine local government areas of Kogi East to canvass support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

“Myself, Murtala Ajaka, and Dr. Kashim Akor will take the message of President Bola Tinubu to every household in Kogi East. The President is loved by our people, and we are determined to ensure that his good works are rewarded with massive votes,” he said.

The senator noted that his personal relationship with the people, coupled with his longstanding record of empowerment and community development, would further strengthen the APC’s grassroots mobilization efforts in the district.

“I have what it takes to mobilize our people for President Tinubu because they know my commitment to their welfare. Even during my years in the banking sector, I facilitated employment opportunities for many youths across Kogi East, and the people still remember those efforts,” Echocho stated.

The lawmaker also highlighted several constituency projects he has executed across Kogi East since assuming office in the Senate. According to him, these projects have directly improved the lives of the people and strengthened confidence in democratic representation.

Among the projects executed by Senator Echocho are the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads, installation of solar-powered streetlights in several communities, renovation of schools, provision of healthcare facilities and medical outreach programmes, distribution of transformers to improve electricity supply, and empowerment schemes for women and youths through skills acquisition and business grants.

He further emphasized his commitment to education and youth development through scholarship programmes, ICT training initiatives, and employment support schemes aimed at reducing unemployment and improving economic opportunities within the senatorial district.

Residents and party supporters at Odu Ward 2 commended the senator for his accessibility and continuous engagement with the grassroots, describing him as one of the most influential political figures in Kogi East whose leadership has continued to attract development to the area.

With political activities gradually gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, Senator Echocho’s renewed mobilization drive is expected to further consolidate the APC’s influence in Kogi East and reinforce support for President Tinubu across the state.
