As Muslims commemorate Eid al-Adha, four organizations have jointly called on Nigerians to embrace the values of sacrifice, service, and national renewal as Muslims mark Yawm Al-‘Arafah.

The call was made in a joint statement by Sanity Multi-Effort Forum (SMEF), Sanity Multi-Effort Limited (SMEL), Dansavist Multi-Concept Limited (DSMCL), and 36 Political Elevation Group (36 PEG), under the leadership of Prince Dan Olaitan Dada.

Yawm Al-‘Arafah, observed on the 9th day of Dhul-Hijjah, is considered the most significant day of the Hajj pilgrimage. For Muslims not on Hajj, it is a day of fasting, prayer, and reflection.

According to the groups, the occasion should go beyond religious observance to inspire concrete action for the country. SMEF, which focuses on restoring order, legality, and accountability in Nigeria’s transport and governance spaces, said the day is a reminder that public trust is earned through lawful conduct and service to citizens. SMEL, working on civic engagement and community development initiatives, noted that sacrifice means putting the common good above personal interest and supporting vulnerable populations. DSMCL, engaged in advocacy and multi-sector collaboration, stressed that national renewal requires collective responsibility from leaders, institutions, and citizens alike. 36 PEG, focused on political education and citizen participation, urged Nigerians to use the occasion to recommit to peace, unity, and active engagement in nation-building.

Prince Dan Olaitan Dada said, “Nigeria’s progress depends on our willingness to sacrifice personal interest for the common good, to serve the vulnerable, and to rebuild trust in our institutions.”

The groups urged citizens to promote peace, uphold lawful conduct, and support efforts that advance accountability and order in public life. They also called on leaders at all levels to lead by example through integrity and service.

The statement concluded with prayers for peace, security, and unity across the country as Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid al-Adha on May 27, 2026, subject to the official moon sighting.
