Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustainable development in Okunland, promising to complete all ongoing projects in the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and launch a new road reconstruction effort.

The Governor, represented by the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), spoke on Friday at an endorsement programme organised by former Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Prince Mathew Kolawole (Yomikola), at Kabba.
The event endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ododo, and other APC candidates in the constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Omodara conveyed the Governor’s appreciation to Yomikola for his mobilisation efforts in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu, describing him as a rallying force for unity in Okunland. He announced that government would begin rehabilitating the Kabba–Oke-Offin–Olle–Iluke road, a key route linking several communities.
“Governor Ododo is committed to sustainable development across Kogi State, and Okunland will not be left behind. Every ongoing project in this federal constituency will be completed, and new ones, including the Kabba–Oke-Offin–Olle–Iluke road, will soon commence,” he said.
The Governor also urged party faithful to back Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, stressing that continuity at the federal level was key to Kogi State maximising national programmes.
Yomikola thanked Ododo and APC leadership for their support and called for unity as the party heads into future elections. The event drew a large turnout of APC leaders, stakeholders, traditional rulers, and women and youth groups from the constituency.
