The Provost of Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba, has donated food items and cash to widows of deceased staff members of the institution.

The gesture, aimed at easing the hardship brought on by the prevailing economic situation, saw the beneficiaries receive essential foodstuffs and financial support.

Fashagba said the widows and families of departed colleagues remained an integral part of the KSCOE family and must not be forgotten.

He stressed the need for compassion and collective responsibility, particularly towards those facing difficult circumstances amid the rising cost of living.

According to him, the donation is not just an act of charity but a practical expression of love, solidarity and appreciation for the contributions of the late staff to the growth and development of the College.

The Provost maintained that the bond of fellowship within the College community should outlive the workplace and continue after the death of a staff member.

The beneficiaries thanked the Provost for remembering them, describing the gesture as timely, thoughtful and reassuring at a period when the high cost of living was putting pressure on households.

The College’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, in a statement signed by its Acting Director, Auwal Isa, said the gesture reflected Fashagba’s people-centred leadership, which values staff welfare alongside academic and infrastructural development.
