Kogi State Government has expressed its condolence to the family of the Late General Manager of the State Environmental Protection Board, (KOSEPB), Mr. Gabriel Olanrewaju.
Mr. Olanrewaju had died recently in a brief illness at the age of 59.
But the Commissioner of Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye while speaking during a Christian Wake in honour of the deceased, said the State has lost a rare gem, dedicated and hard working Administrator.
He described the Late General Manager as a humility personified, who was never offended by whatever done to him, saying his demise has created a vacuum too difficult to fill.
The Commissioner said, though death is a necessary end for all mortals, Mr. Olanrewaju would be greatly missed for his Generosity and quality service to God and humanity.
Chief Omofaiye urged the family to take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation, praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He sympathized with his immediate Family, Ogbe Community, people of Yagba West and Environment Stakeholders in the State over the loss and prayed God to grant him eternal rest.
In his sermon, Rev. Adegoke Fagbemi, the guest preacher said the deceased exemplified Love, humility and sacrificial giving during his life time.
According to him, Late Mr. Olanrewaju placed value on the wellbeing of the masses by putting smiles on their faces, saying Soul is important to God than any other thing.
