Recall that the defectors, who were heavyweights in the PDP and ADC including Former member of House of Representatives, Hon. TJ Faniyi, Salahudeen Ganiyu, Hon. Dr. Akanle, while reacting to the deefection congratulated the decampees for seeing the light that APC remains a Party to beat in the State and Nigeria as a whole.

In his words “I feel happy about this unique action of yours. Moreso, because it is an indication that we are gradually coming out of the political trenches that have hitherto defined and separated us.”

According to him, the present Leaders of the party are up to the task in ensuring equal treatment for them and their teaming supporters.

“I can confidently assure you all, that the present crop of APC leaders, will do everything possible to ensure that your decision is not regretted.

“You can therefore feel free because you will be fully integrated and accommodate in the scheme of things at all levels of the Party’s structure.

And per adventure there have been misgivings between us in the past; consider them as normal and not anything to loose sleep about. Such must have arisen because, we were all doing what we could then, to ensure the electoral success of our various parties then.

“You should consider all that gone and a thing of the past. Now that we are all one, under the APC, we bury all hatchets; and work hard to bring more people to the fold of the Party.

Asked on the implications of the deflection ahead of 2027 General election in the Federal Constituency, Dr. Akanle said the election is in the hand of God but expressed optimism that the Party will wax stronger in Kogi State as well as Nigeria.
