The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has constituted a seven-member National Reconciliation Committee to address grievances arising from its recent party primaries across the country.
The committee, which will engage aggrieved aspirants and party stakeholders, is expected to resolve outstanding disputes and strengthen internal cohesion ahead of future political activities.
This was disclosed in a press statement jointly signed by the National Chairman of the party, Senator Cleopas Moses, and the National Secretary, Mr. Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu.
According to the statement, renowned political economist, Prof. Pat Utomi, will chair the committee, while veteran politician, Engr. Buba Galadima, will serve as Co-Chairman.
Other members of the committee are Mohammed Sanni Takori (Vice Chairman), Babatunde Alli (Secretary), Mrs. Dudu Mamman Manuga, Hon. Salvador Adegoke Moshood, and Alhaji Haruna Pai.
The NDC also announced the establishment of three zonal sub-committees to oversee reconciliation efforts in the North, South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.
The party said the committees would engage aspirants and stakeholders with a view to resolving all lingering issues stemming from the primary elections and fostering unity within its ranks.
According to the statement, the National Reconciliation Committee will be inaugurated at the party’s National Secretariat at 12 noon on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The party added that the full list of members of the national committee and the zonal sub-committees has been attached to the statement.
