The recent homecoming rally of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, CON, across Kogi Central has finally settled the debate over who owns and controls the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kogi State.

From the first day to the last, what Kogi witnessed was unprecedented. A mammoth, organic and uncompelled crowd trooped out in thousands to receive their leader. Market women abandoned their stalls, youths lined the streets, and elders offered prayers and songs in solidarity with the White Lion. The reception was not only massive but emotional. It showed that Yahaya Bello remains widely accepted by his people.

In an era where politicians hire crowds to feign popularity, what was seen in Kogi Central was pure love and loyalty. People came on their own volition because they remember what Bello did for them — security, unity, inclusiveness and empowerment.

No Nigerian politician has pulled such a crowd in recent times. The organic turnout is a clear statement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

First, as the undisputed supreme leader of the APC in Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello will deliver the state 100 percent for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. With Bello holding the structure, the APC in Kogi is already in a comfortable lead.

Second, his senatorial election in Kogi Central will be a walkover. The people of Central have spoken loud and clear — they want their leader in the Red Chamber to continue his good work on a bigger stage.

Detractors may continue to talk, but the crowd has spoken louder. The structure, the spirit and the soul of the APC in Kogi State belong to Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
