The Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom, Prince Olatunji Olusoji, has called on the people of Kogi West to adopt a sound strategy and form alliances with Kogi East and Kogi Central Senatorial Districts in their quest for the governorship of the state.
Olusoji made the call at the 2026 Ayere Day, held in Ayere, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Describing the event as a special day for the people of the community, he said it was time for Kogi West to get it right politically.
He acknowledged that the Okun people had advocated the governorship slot for years, noting that the agitation was justifiable.
“But we need to come up with a good strategy and build alliances with our brothers from Kogi East and Central Senatorial Districts,” he said.
Olusoji, who is also the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Grosvenor Global Services Limited, reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of his people, pledging to continue to identify with them in the areas of education, healthcare and social welfare.
He stressed that no government could meet all the needs of the people, which, he said, makes it necessary for public-spirited individuals to complement government’s efforts.
The Asiwaju explained that his philanthropic activities in the state were intended to complement the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Prince Olusoji predicted landslide victory for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next year’s general election.
The Ayere Day is an annual event that brings together sons and daughters of the community, dignitaries and well-wishers to celebrate the kingdom’s heritage and discuss its development.
