A leading Aspirant under the platform of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) for the Kogi Gubernatorial election, Alhaji Usman Ododo says he is satisfied with the conduct of Thursday’s primaries across the state, with very high hopes that he would emerge victorious as the party’s candidate.
Alhaji Usman Ododo who spoke to journalists shortly after casting his vote at Ukpogoro ward, Okene Local Government where the party held a direct primary to elect a flag bearer ahead of the November 11 2023, election in the state, commended the massive turnout.
The former Auditor General for Local Government averred that he came prepared for the job because he has disposed himself to leadership tutorials and mentorship under Yahaya Bello over the years.
He said he has carefully watched, followed and learnt basic rudiments of leadership from Yahaya Bello and has the capacity not only to consolidate on Bello’s achievement, but to also improve on the foundation laid by him.
Ododo said the massive turnout of party to the primaries was a significant show of the fact that Yahaya Bello has made the people interested about party politics which he said is shown in the numerous projects executed by the governor.
When asked what plans he has for the state if he gets the party’s ticket Ododo said “I will ensure that aggrieved party members, particularly, fellow aspirants are united to form a common front to go into the general election”
“Our leader Yahaya Bello has done well for us as a community and as a state. This is a state that is divided across religious, tribe and ethnic lines, a state almost captured by terrorist, but was rescued by Yahaya Bello”
This modest achievement needs to be consolidated upon and I have watched keenly what he did and I will follow his steps.
“I will vigorously implement the security plans of my boss, go further to research on new and emerging techniques in handling security issues and this will guarantee investors to the state”
The frontline aspirant is confident of winning the party’s ticket, adding that every odds are in his favor, but believed that the greater achievement will be made in the general election if all were united.
