Kogi, Magongo And The Imperative of Continuity: X-raying Tinubu and Ododo’s Governance

By Prince Dan Olaitan Dada

I write as both an observer of Nigerian politics and a product of Kogi State’s school system. I was born in Oro Ago, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, but my primary and secondary education took place in Kogi. That experience gives me a claim to Okun, Ebira and Igbomina heritage.

Kogi shaped my education. Kwara is my birthplace. Nigeria is my country.

Since 2024, through Dansavist Multi-Concept Limited, I have worked in Kogi State and interacted with its communities. The people are hospitable, resilient and committed to peace.

The people of Ogori-Magongo stand out for their attachment to culture and their insistence on order.

Magongo and the 2026 Owiya Osese Festival.

The 2026 edition of the Owiya Osese Festival in Magongo was conducted with discipline and dignity. Royal rites, drumming and communal gatherings and rich cultural heritage were presented without exaggeration, reflecting the value of preserving identity and tradition of a peaceful community which Magongo represents.

Perhaps, one can suggest that such events require an atmosphere of security and improved administration. My belief is that when government functions as it should, communities can celebrate tradition without interruption.

On this occasion, it is evident that Magongo stands out as a pride of Kogi State, symbolising resilience and cultural continuity.

36 PEG’s Assessment: Governance as a Relay.

The 36 Political Elevation Group 36 PEG holds that cultural preservation and economic development are easier to sustain where policy is consistent.

At the federal level, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has focused on fiscal reform, infrastructure and security. In Kogi State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has chosen to complete ongoing projects and to build on existing frameworks rather than abandon them.

This has implications for roads, agriculture, education and security in the state. It treats governance as a relay in which each administration takes responsibility for what came before.

36 PEG refers to this approach as the Ododo Model. It mirrors the Tinubu blueprint in its emphasis on completion, institutional memory and measured reform.

Complimentary Remarks:

By Comrade Sanmi Isola Oluleye, Director General, 36 Political Elevation Group ’36 PEG.

The 36 Political Elevation Group endorses the position of its President. His intervention reflects our commitment to factual engagement and to the documentation of governance across Nigeria.

The Kogi edition of the Giant Strides Discuss will serve as the template for our nationwide tour. We affirm our support for continuity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, as a foundation for stability and sustainable progress.

36 PEG Giant Strides Discuss: Kogi Edition.

To test this claim against facts, 36 PEG will launch the Giant Strides Discuss: Interstate Edition, starting in Kogi.

We intend to visit towns and villages, meet citizens and traditional institutions, and record the impact of federal and state interventions. Our purpose is to provide evidence where speculation exists and to show how continuity affects communities.

Conclusion.

36 PEG congratulates the people of Magongo, citizens and their traditional rulers on the successful conduct of the 2026 Owiya Osese Festival.

We maintain that continuity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo offers the most practical route to protect cultural identity while delivering development.

Kogi educated me. Kwara gave me birth. Nigeria is my duty. We will support governance that builds on what works.

36 PEG represents the Institutional Memory of Nigerian Democracy.
