Leaders, stakeholders, executives, and party faithful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ayetoro/Agirigbon Oke Ward have unanimously endorsed Hon. Femi Esemikose as their consensus candidate for the Ijumu I State Constituency seat.

The endorsement is contained in a Communique signed by Hon. Oseni Rafiu APC, PRO of the Ward during a well-attended ward meeting, where members collectively and strongly appealed to the party leadership to zone the House of Assembly position to Ayetoro/Agirigbon Oke Ward, stressing that such a decision is critical to promoting equity, fairness, and political balance within the constituency.

In their resolution, the ward emphasized that rotation has remained the hallmark of political arrangements in the area, fostering peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, and sustained political progress.

They noted that elective and appointive positions, especially the Chairmanship and House of Assembly, have historically been rotated among wards, and therefore called for the continuation of this established zoning principle by conceding the seat to their ward.

The stakeholders expressed concern that Ayetoro/Agirigbon Oke Ward has never produced a member of the State House of Assembly since 1999, describing this as a long-standing imbalance that must now be corrected.

They further pointed out that other wards, including nearby ones Ayetoro/Ilughagba ward 1, have benefited from positions such as the House of Representatives, Senate, and a former and present commissioner on multiple occasion, while their ward has consistently been left out.

They maintained that zoning the Ijumu I Constituency seat to Ayetoro/Agirigbon Oke Ward at this time is not only fair but necessary to sustain unity, inclusiveness, and trust within the party and the constituency at large.

Reiterating their demand, the ward called on party leaders at all levels to uphold justice by officially zoning the position to Ayetoro/Agirigbon Oke Ward, while also expressing strong confidence in the capacity and credibility of Hon. Femi Esemikose to effectively represent the constituency.

They expressed optimism in the sense of justice of the Party and leadership of the Executive Governor of the state, urging him and other critical stakeholders to objectively consider their appeal and ensure that Ayetoro/Agirigbon Oke Ward is given a rightful opportunity to experience the full benefits of democratic representation.
