SEYDAW Promises to Sustain Women, Girls Empowerment in South East Yagba

It was a shared love and unity at the 2024 South East Yagba Women’s Day and Fundraising of 20 Million naira for Women and Girls Empowerment Project organized by South East Yagba Development Association (SEYDAW) Women Wing, in Ejuku.

 

The event which was held at the UBE Field, Opposite Ejuku Town Hall, Ejuku in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, saw dignitaries from within and outside the shores of Nigeria, dressed in different local attires in attendance.

 

The National President and Initiator of SEYDA Women Wing, Chief Ebun Joel, said the program with the theme; “Prioritizing Women’s Health for Community Development”, was put together to address health challenges confronting Community Dwellers.

Chief Ebun explained that the Association is not resting on her oars at embarking on Community projects that will have direct positive impact on the socioeconomic lives of the people.

 

She appreciated everyone that attended the event for their show of love and for contributing their quota towards the actualization of the Association’s vision for the people.

 

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Amb. Shola Enikanolaiye who doubles as SEYDA Chairman, stressed the need for the girl-child to be equipped through formal education and vocational skills.

Amb. Enikanolaiye pointed out that women plays integral role in the development of the Society, heaping praises on SEYDAW for her commitment to women empowerment at the Rural Communities.

 

On his part, the Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Oluseyi Henry Omotosho, who is the MD/CEO, New Moon Nigeria Limited, said collective effort is needed at tackling all challenges facing women as highlighted at the event, calling on women to sustain their momentum at making headway in their chosen profession.

 

The Agbana of Isanlu, HRM Oba Moses Etombi, who served as the Royal Father of the Day, expressed joy over the tremendous work SEYDAW has been doing over the years.

 

While calling on others to join hands with the Association at impacting the lives of women and girls at the grassroots, he encouraged the Group to sustain her efforts that have been earning them accolades from all and sundry.

 

Funds raised at the event are to be used for the empowerment of women and girls across the fifteen Communities in South East Yagba.

 

The event featured Free Medical Outreach, Health Walk, Fundraising, Cultural Dance, Community Parade and Investiture of Mother and Daughter of the Year (2024).
